Telehealth, mHealth Make Nurses Pivotal Presence in Healthcare

I have been an advocate of Telehealth and mHealth for a while now, despite my financial limitations and getting Medicare to pay for these services. The healthcare market will be forced to address this cost containment initiative and technology advancement; smart agencies get in front of this. Not every event needs a Doctor to diagnose and treat, especially with Nurse Practitioners receiving advanced training beyond the Bachelor of Science in Nursing to become a true professional and more than just an attending nurse. A Master’s degree or equivalent is a starting point, then experience in a chosen specialty, and state licensures over above the nursing exam (“How Long Does it Take to Become a Nurse Practitioner?,” 2016).

This man is awesome, almost as much as Bill Gates.

When Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos spoke today at the Air Force Association’s 2018 Air, Space and Cyber Conference, his head wasn’t just up in the clouds.

To be sure, he devoted a lot of attention to his Blue Origin space venture and what it could offer for U.S. space dominance. But Bezos also talked about two-way vs. one-way doors in decision making; experimentation vs. operational excellence, and other strategies from Amazon’s management playbook. There were even references to Amazon’s HQ2 search, and the value of putting square pegs in round holes.

The EU is represented again, this time with the marriage of music and programming. When you get deep into music structure, chords, etc. (of which I have no talent for or interest in) then it makes sense.

Inspiration. Tech companies want to highlight their stories on how their products make events like this possible. Microsoft lives this reality and is uniquely positioned to make it happen. I am so glad that they chose this route, and accelerated it with Satya Nadella at the helm.

Most of this technology that is used in gaming and accessibility ultimately has its roots in the Kinect sensor, essentially gone but not forgotten. Doing backgrounder work on this topic, obvious to me that these sensors allow the software to interpret what is seen and can act upon it, without being called out as such. Down the road as the Virtual Reality market matures, devices like this will be as ubiquitous as smartphones and touch screens are today. Devices such as the Tobii Eye Tracker 4C are an interim step prior to the aforementioned VR.

PyDev of the Week: Aisha Bello | The Mouse Vs. The Python

Yes, there was a PyDev last week; I was pre-occupied with other matters to post about it. Anyway, this Labor Day (US) edition continues to shine spotlights on #BlackGirlMagic coders here and around the world. I can never get enough of them, so shouldn’t you.
